Hydromulch (Pty) Ltd was founded in 1969 when
hydroseeding
contracting was in its infancy. It has helped pioneer the
landscape, soil reclamation and erosion control industry in
Africa
over the past 38 years.
Hydromulch operates from its farm premises in Bapsfontein and has
reclamation, mainly hydroseeding - equipment in excess of R20-million.
The hydro seeder equipment is maintained
in peak condition. The company has completed contracts totaling
over R300-million in the last thirty-eight years.
Hydromulch has the plant, equipment, resources and manpower to
operate simultaneously on many sites both in Africa and internationally.
It is capable of handling entire hydroseeding and erosion
control projects and all landscaping and environmental rehabilitation
projects on many levels including: industrial or urban development
projects, major mining rehabilitation projects, road and railway
projects or other civil engineering projects within Africa, Indian
Ocean Islands, Middle East, Caribbean and the West Indies. We are
geared up to interact with any environmental reclamation enquiry
world wide and specialises in underdeveloped countries promoting
sustainable development.
Hydromulch has developed its own industry specific equipment, products
and methods of hydraulic seeding and vegetation
restoration. The establishment of vegetation on sub-soils, often
in hostile climatic conditions, has made it a world leader in its
field.
Hydromulch has extensive experience in land rehabilitation
projects mainly of mine closures and employed in a dual contracting
and consulting capacity. Clients include some of the largest international
mining corporations operating on the African continent
and elsewhere.
Hydromulch is well known for its association with the CSIR, with
whom it has instrumented sophisticated coastal dune
reclamation and enviromental rehabilitation management systems,
jointly offering turnkey operations.
Hydromulch pioneered, among many other innovations, the method
of reinstating “fynbos” or “macchia” vegetation
along the Garden Route in South Africa. The excellent
cover of re-established natural fynbos found on the National Roadwork
system stretches from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town bears testimony
to this achievement. Today this concept, in various modified forms,
is widely used across Southern Africa.
Hydromulch works in close association with many renowned ecologists,
consultants, environmental engineers and scientific organisations,
designing reclamation and revegetation specifications, which have
been applied successfully throughout Africa. We are also retailers
of hydroseeders which facilitates
quick turn-over on projects.
The company’s philosophy, whether in a consulting, contracting
or a project management capacity, is to adhere to its clients’
requirements and contract programs with uncompromising rigour. Extremely
high work standards are consistently maintained which enables
us to meet even the most stringent specifications. All
work undertaken by Hydromulch is guaranteed.
